- How far in the future can I schedule a letter?
- Six months minimum, five years maximum at launch. We may extend to 10 years once we have a track record.
- Can you send to international addresses?
- Not yet. The current service is for UK delivery addresses only.
- How long can my letter be?
- Between 200 and 12,000 characters. The best future-self letters are often shorter than you expect.
- Can I include a photo?
- Not in the current editor. It accepts formatted text only.
- Can I read it before it sends?
- You can read and edit a saved draft before payment. After payment, contact support if something must change.
- What if I move?
- Contact support immediately. Once the print partner has booked a job, an address change may not be possible.
- Can I send a letter to someone else?
- Not as a gift product today. The current checkout covers a single letter with a UK delivery address supplied by the buyer.
- Refunds?
- Ask before the mailing is booked for a full refund. After booking, a refund depends on whether the print partner can recover the job and its cost.
- Do you read my letter?
- No. Letters are encrypted at rest. We can technically decrypt and read before mailing, but we don't. See /security for the full threat model.
- What if you go away in six months?
- Once your account says “Sealed at print partner,” Stannp holds the posting schedule independently. Before that status appears, the mailing is not yet safely booked.
- Is the writing handwritten or typed?
- You type it in the editor. The current PDF uses a printed serif typeface.
- What paper do you use?
- The standard and premium supplier specifications are being revalidated. Checkout stays paused until those materials are confirmed.
- Postage class?
- Standard uses UK 2nd class. Premium is intended to use UK 1st class; checkout remains paused while that supplier configuration is revalidated.
- Is this VAT-able?
- Prices are inclusive. We're under the UK VAT threshold today, so no VAT charged.
- Can I write multiple letters at once?
- You can save more than one draft and buy individual letters one at a time when checkout reopens. Subscriptions are not currently offered.
